Missio Lux is pleased to be making available internship opportunities for qualified individuals. Missio Lux is an exciting faith community and internships would provide students with opportunities for not only professional experience but also personal spiritual growth and development. Interns would work with Senior Pastor Tamara Buchan as well as lay leadership. We are currently desiring to fill the positions listed below but we are always interested in meeting with interested applicants to explore other opportunities to structure an internship experience that would meet individual needs for experience and growth.
We are willing to consider working with your university's internship program to meet the advisory and evaluation aspects required for internships with academic credit.
Feel free to email or call for more information. To apply, send a letter of interest and a description of your experience and skills to:

A Communications Internship would provide opportunities for a qualified and motivated student to develop written, video, podcast, photography or other creative content to enhance our established website (www.missiolux.org) and to utilize other communication mechanisms like Constant Contact. The intern would be provided with opportunities to work with Missio Community leaders in developing website content and also serve as a liaison to the website host. The communications intern would develop communication pieces and messages for the congregation and public working with the Senior Pastor and lay leaders. There may also be opportunities for participating in worship services, blogging, mid-size communities and missional experiences. Desired educational background would include communications, writing, basic computer technology and/or other creative disciplines.
A Student or Children’s Ministries Internship could be created and tailored to the unique interests of a qualified student. The intern would have experiences developing and implementing a curriculum for children and/or teens in a mid-size missional community (similar to a house church) of families meeting in a home twice a month. Opportunities to work with families and participate in missional experiences will be available as well as opportunities to facilitate spiritual growth and development in children and youth. Intern will work with Senior Pastor and lay leadership. A background in theology, education, child development, children or youth ministry would be desired.
A Worship Internship would provide a qualified student with opportunities to participate and assist in the development and implementation of monthly gatherings of the Missio Lux congregation. Depending on the interests and gifting of the intern, opportunities would vary and could include: planning and administrative follow through on details related to the gathering, liaison with the technology team, follow-through on logistical details including communicating with volunteers, participate in the development of elements of the worship service, lead and participate in parts of the worship experience including music, opportunities to participate on prayer team, creating multi-media or drama, or to serve out of gifting as a participant. Various backgrounds would be helpful, but most importantly are qualities of self-motivation, ability to follow-through, work well with others, and a heart to facilitate individuals connecting with God in worship. Intern will work with Senior Pastor as well as Missio Lux Celebration Gathering Team. This would be an ideal opportunity for students feeling called into worship ministry.
